Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy is a 4 year long degree course about the science of physical movements and it helps in preventing disability of the same. The basic aim of this course is to teach the students the medical skills to ease acute physical pain, injury or illness among patients, using the techniques of Physiotherapy. The course imparts a comprehensive knowledge about treating disabilities and impairments to the students. A detailed knowledge about human anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, psychology, medical and surgical conditions, biomechanics, disability prevention and rehabilitation are provided to the students pursuing the course. Some of the most basic skills that the students are taught during the degree course are application of electrophysical modalities, therapeutic exercise and manual therapy. If you are interested in curing physical disabilities among patients then a career in Physiotherapy is apt for you.

B.Sc in Physiotherapy

Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility: The applicant must have completed the Higher Secondary Examination (10 + 2) or equivalent qualified examination from any other recognized Board with Science.

Scholarship is available for meritorious students (T&C Apply).

A student can opt for higher education after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in the subject or he/she can work at hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, defence medical organizations, rehabilitation centres, private or government organizations, pharma industries and orthopaedic departments. If candidates can prove their expertise and knowledge about the subject they can work in job profiles like lecturer, sports physio rehabilitator, consultant, self employed private physiotherapist, researcher, physiotherapist, assistant physiotherapist and research assistant.

For admission to JIS University courses, students have to qualify in JIS University Entrance Examination (JISUEE) 2020 (ONLINE Exam). This exam is conducted either at the University campus at Agarpara or can be given by the candidate sitting at home, weekly every Wednesday (11 am to 1 pm) and every Saturday (11 am to 1 pm).
The Result of this Online Exam is declared within 48 working hours of the examination and is intimated to the students individually by email by the Admission department. Generally candidates are advised to take admission for the respective course in the University within 7 days of declaring the Exam result.
Scholarship is awarded based on the result of the minimum Qualifying exam (as per Eligibility criteria of the respective courses) and performance in entrance exam. Accordingly fees are applicable for Admission.

Students who have secured 90% marks or above in Higher Secondary Examination (10 + 2) or equivalent qualified examination from any other recognized Board is entitled to 50% scholarship.

Students who have secured 80%-89% marks in Higher Secondary Examination (10 + 2) or equivalent qualified examination from any other recognized Board is entitled to 20% scholarship.
