About the Program

The Faculty of Agriculture offers 4-year B. Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture programme. The course curriculum is based on ICAR Vth Deans’ Committee Report. At the undergraduate level, the Department lays emphasis on foundations in Agricultural Sciences with different courses like Agronomy, Soil Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Extension, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Crop Physiology etc. The students get exposure to state-of-the-art education and hands-on experience through well-equipped laboratories and farmers’ field visits. The students are engaged in participation of internship in different multinational and national companies through which they will be ready for industrial domain.

Eligibility

Higher Secondary (10+2) pass with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) or vocational Agricultural course.

Career Path

After completion the B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture students can get different State and Central Government jobs like Assistant Director of Agriculture, FCI, NABARD, FSSAI, Forest Department, Plant Protection Department (Plant Protection Officer), Field officer in Nationalized Banks, Different corporate sectors (Seed Production, Agri Chemicals, Bio Fertilizers companies), Specialized officer in Leading NGOs, ICAR-KVK Subject Matter Specialist, Farm Manager Jobs etc.

PEO

PEO-1: To prepare students to develop the conceptual and practical knowledge, skills and competency related to the various aspects of agriculture and allied sciences.
PEO-2: To produce skilled manpower with entrepreneurial skills in the field of agricultural science and related sectors.
PEO-3: To provide hand hold exposure on agriculture using modern instrumentation techniques.
PEO-4: To provide students with life-long learning attitude for a successful professional career in institutes or industries of repute.
