JIS University examination department is governed by the University Statutes and JISU Examination Regulations. The vision and mission of the cell are aligned with those of the University.

The Examination Department of JIS University plays a crucial role in administering and managing various examination-related processes. The following provides an overview of the department's major functions.

The examination department arranges and conducts end-semester examinations, summer-term examinations for all departments and programs under JIS University. It oversees the question paper preparation, moderation, and distribution for the smooth conduct of the examinations while maintaining utmost secrecy and confidentiality.

After completion of the examinations, the examination department coordinates with the departments and examination portal management team for smooth evaluation processes and publication of results online.

The examination department facilitates the review process for the students who want a re-evaluation of answer scripts by providing a window for the application of review.

The examination department is responsible for the issuance of Marks statements, Grade cards, Degree Certificates, Provisional Certificates, Degree Transcripts, Bonafide certificates, Backlog Summary Reports, Special reports for scholarships. Duplicate certificates are also issued provided proper requests are made and required documentation is available.

JIS University has adopted end-to-end digital solutions for examination processes. The whole process starting from Exam form submission, admit card generation, question paper preparation, moderation, evaluation, TR Generation, declaration of results, review processes upto grade card generation – all are done digitally.

The department is also responsible for drafting and updating of JIS University Exam regulations, drafting of rules and regulations for academic awards and other related regulations like JISU SWAYAM regulations.

The examination department is also responsible for uploading the exam-related student data in the National Academic Depository for the generation of the digital certificates of the students in the NAD Portal.

This department is also responsible for liaisoning with departments and updating student data for SWAYAM Courses, ensuring proper registration of students in adopted SWAYAM Courses, maintaining proper documentation of the scores obtained by the students in adopted SWAYAM courses.

The Examination Department is headed by the Controller of Examinations who reports to the Vice Chancellor. The entire process of assessment, evaluation and conduction of examinations is as per University Statutes, UGC regulations and JIS University Examination Regulations. The programs falling under the regulatory bodies like PCI, BCI, ICAR, NCTE etc., follow the rules and regulations of their apex bodies and supersede other rules.
