About the Program

JIS School of Medical Science & Research, is the self-financed private Medical College of West Bengal. Having begun its journey in 2023 and navigated through its initial ups and downs, JISMSR is gaining a steady pace both in teaching students and treating patients.

JISMSR , a part of JIS University is under the affiliation of the Department of Health &Family Welfare, Govt of West Bengal. There is currently MBBS course at this institute, Which is approved by the NMC. To add to its glory, post graduate courses in preclinical, Para clinical and clinical disciplines are expected to come up in the near future.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board, council or university and must have passed in the subjects of physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry, biology /biotechnology taken together. Candidates should have passed English as compulsory subject. For candidates belonging to SC/ST or OBC, the minimum qualifying marks is 45% in above three subjects taken together and for the candidates having lower limb disability as defined by NMC/MCI, the minimum qualifying score is 45% for above three subjects taken together. Prevailing NMC regulations shall apply at the time of admission.
  • Candidates must have qualified in NEET examination and obtained minimum score of 50th percentile in NEET 2023. However, for candidates belonging to SC/ST category the minimum qualifying score is 40th percentile and for the candidates having disability of lower limb as defined by NMC the minimum qualifying score is 45th percentile. However, the score mentioned is modified by the Government of India/ NMC, the revised qualifying score shall be applicable for respective categories.
  • Candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the MBBS Course.
  • Candidates seeking admission in MBBS course for 2023-24 session have to apply for NEET examination directly to National Testing Agency or agent authorised by Government of India/NMC. For the purpose of admission, after qualifying the NEET examination the candidate must apply through WBMCC, Government of West Bengal or any other agency authorised by Government of West Bengal for that purpose.
