Prof. (Dr.) Bhaskar Gupta is the Vice Chancellor of JIS University, Kolkata.
JIS University began its journey in 2015 with a vision to deliver quality education and research in key areas such as Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Legal Science. The University was founded with the mission to nurture young minds and prepare them to face the scientific and technological challenges of the modern world.
Visionary leaders such as Prof. B. C. Mal, Prof. Indranil Sengupta, Prof. Ajoy Kumar Ray, and Prof. Bhabes Bhattacharya have served as Vice Chancellors and significantly contributed to shaping the University’s stature and reputation over the years.
Currently, JIS University comprises Nine Faculties:
Agriculture, Education, Engineering and Technology, Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Juridical Science, Management, Pharmacy, Science, and Advanced Studies and Research — offering 28 academic programs at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The University is especially proud of its dynamic and high-quality Ph.D. programs, guided by an esteemed pool of research-oriented faculty members.
