NOTIFICATION
No. WB (Part-III/2015/SAR-4 dated JANUARY 21, 2015): In exercise of the power conferred under Section 28 of the JIS University, West Bengal Act, 2014/15/16 (West Bengal Act No. 81-L — 21st January 2015), the Governing Board of the JIS University hereby causes the first statutes of the University as follows:
STATUTORY DECLARATION UNDER RTI ACT, 2005
The Right to Information, Statutory Declaration under Right to Information Act (hereinafter "Act"), 2005, has been enacted by the Parliament and came into force on 15 June 2005 and subsequently enforced on 05 October 2005. This Act provides access to information under the control of public authorities to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority coming under the ambit of Section 2(H) of the Act.
STATUTORY DECLARATION UNDER RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT
As per Notification No. WB (Part-III/2015/SAR-4 dated JANUARY 21, 2015), in exercise of the power conferred under Section 28 of the JIS University, West Bengal Act, 2014/15/16 (West Bengal Act No. 81-L — 21st January 2015), JIS University comes within the meaning of a Public Authority and under the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

It is also empowered to establish its main campus and other centers across India and abroad, as per UGC and other regulatory bodies’ norms. |
