The vision of the Department of Biotechnology is to create a niche in different areas of biological sciences, and produce competent individual who can tackle problems in both academic and industrial sectors and solve a wide array of problems in a global society.

M1: The mission of the department is to prepare students in multidisciplinary fields with emphasis on training and research in Biotechnology and Microbiology.
M2: To offer quality education so that students can interlink between basic and applied science along with focus on industry-based problems.
M3: To provide hands on training courses in the rapidly advancing field of biological sciences along with emphasis on Entrepreneurship skill development programs.
M4: To make students aware of professional ethics that arise from research to testing and development of the product.

Eligibility

Passed 10+2 Examination in the Science stream with a minimum aggregate score of 50%* (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Mathematics as the main subjects of study at the 10+2 level plus JET (JIS University Entrance Exam)
