About the Program
The Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) is a two-year foundational program that introduces students to the core principles of pharmaceutical sciences. The curriculum is carefully designed to cover key areas such as pharmacy practice, drug formulation and dispensing, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, and pharmacognosy. Emphasizing both theoretical understanding and hands-on training, the program equips students with the essential knowledge and skills required for entry-level roles in the pharmacy profession. The D. Pharm course at JIS University follows the standards set by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), ensuring a well-balanced approach to academic learning and practical application. It serves as a strong stepping stone for those aiming to further their studies in pharmacy or contribute effectively to healthcare services.

Eligibility
Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized Central or State Board or its equivalent with the minimum 50%, with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects, and Mathematics or Biology as the 3rd subject or JET (JIS University Entrance Exam)
Career Path
Those who finish the D, Pharm. course have some excellent career opportunities. D Pharma jobs can be found in many different contexts, such as clinics, private hospitals, community health centers, government hospitals, private drug stores, and other pharmaceutical services. Following their D Pharm, students can work as data analysts in pharmacovigilance software companies, or they can work as pharmacists in the government and private sectors, such as in government hospitals, Indian railways, the BSF, the Navy, and the Air Force, or they can launch their own businesses. He or she may even have the opportunity to work in any pharmaceutical MNC's production department. Additionally, the D. Pharm candidate chooses to enrol in the B. Pharma program through JELET examination conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) after completing their D. Pharma programme.
