About the Program
The Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance is a two-year full-time postgraduate program pursued after the completion of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree. This advanced course provides students with a comprehensive theoretical and practical foundation in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Validation, and Auditing. It emphasizes the development and validation of both qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques for evaluating active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients, impurities, and herbal formulations, aligned with standard regulatory guidelines. The program includes hands-on training in the handling and testing of pharmaceutical and related products using sophisticated analytical instruments such as HPLC and FTIR. Additionally, students are introduced to contemporary industrial practices and regulatory frameworks established by national and international bodies including CDSCO, USFDA, ICH, WHO, ISO, GMP, and GLP. Designed to enhance theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and research aptitude, the course prepares graduates for successful careers in quality control, regulatory affairs, and compliance within the pharmaceutical and allied industries. Eligibility requires a B. Pharm degree, and although qualification in the GPAT exam is preferred, it may not be mandatory for admission depending on institutional criteria.
