About the Program
The M.Sc. Microbiology is a two-year postgraduate degree comprising four semesters. This course
integrates biology and chemistry to study biological systems and their environmental interactions. It
focuses on microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, algae, fungi, slime molds, and protozoa, which
are primarily unicellular and require specialized study techniques.
The curriculum covers the study of microbes and their impact on humanity, providing insights into
their characteristics, applications, and management. Microorganisms play crucial roles in agriculture,
bioremediation, waste management, water treatment, oil recovery, and biogas production.
